La presse yougoslave parle de la d\u00e9cadence capitaliste et de la connivence avec l\u2019ouest d\u00e9cadent. Le nouveau regard de Petrovic d\u00e9range. Alexandre Petrovic ne s\u2019attendait pas \u00e0 tourner facilement un autre long-m\u00e9trage. Il est revenu \u00e0 ses films documentaires et court-m\u00e9trages. Pourquoi la psychologie d&rsquo;un personnage sera-t-elle le mieux exprim\u00e9e par un visage ou une parole? L&rsquo;expressivit\u00e9 de visage est surestim\u00e9e.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em id=\"__mceDel\">Je pars toujours d&rsquo;une exp\u00e9rience qui m&rsquo;a touch\u00e9e et inspir\u00e9e et je cherche la solution dans le mat\u00e9riau que j&rsquo;exploite. On peut transposer litt\u00e9ralement un sujet, par exemple la rupture entre deux amoureux; mais il faut le vivre subjectivement pour que la construction rationaliste s&rsquo;y harmonise.<br><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Je ne r\u00e9alise pas un film sur un acteur, ni m\u00eame sur la personne qu\u2019il repr\u00e9sente, mais sur une id\u00e9e ou une \u00e9motion. Pour moi, il est essentiel qu\u2019un film aujourd\u2019hui doit \u00eatre sinc\u00e8re et vrai, une confession en&nbsp;quelque sorte, l\u2019image de la vie vue de ses propres yeux, une partie de&nbsp;la conscience de l\u2019homme moderne.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Il n\u2019y pas de mensonge dans l\u2019art. L\u2019art ne connait que la v\u00e9rit\u00e9. Nous ne sommes pas des juges, ni les proph\u00e8tes ni des propagandistes.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u2026 L&rsquo;\u00e9volution logique de l&rsquo;art cin\u00e9matographique et le march\u00e9 du film incitent \u00e0 faire des films \u00e0 la fois artistiques et commerciaux, ce qui est, je vous l&rsquo;assure, un travail extr\u00eamement difficile. Je pense qu&rsquo;il est \u00e0 pr\u00e9sent fondamental, dans le cadre de la cin\u00e9matographie mondiale, de s\u00e9parer l&rsquo;exhibitionnisme dilettant de l&rsquo;aventure po\u00e9tique r\u00e9elle. Lors d\u2019une conf\u00e9rence de presse tr\u00e8s anim\u00e9e, Marcel Martin m\u2019a demand\u00e9 si ces deux films avaient \u00e9t\u00e9 tourn\u00e9s sous l\u2019influence de l\u2019\u00e9cole cin\u00e9matographique tch\u00e8que\u2026 et si j\u2019avais vu des films tch\u00e8ques avant de tourner mes films, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire des films de Forman, Passek etc\u2026 Je lui ai r\u00e9pondu que je n\u2019aurais pas eu l\u2019occasion de voir ces films tch\u00e8ques avant le tournage de mes films car les films tch\u00e8ques en question n\u2019avaient pas encore \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9s \u00e0 ce moment-l\u00e0. Ces cin\u00e9astes tch\u00e8ques auraient pu, \u00e9ventuellement voir mes films, mais moi, cela m\u2019\u00e9tait impossible de voir les leurs. A pr\u00e9sent, je ne veux pas aborder la question s\u2019ils ont ou n\u2019ont pas vu nos films. Mais il est certain que je ne pouvais pas avoir vu leurs films en 1961 (l\u2019ann\u00e9e du tournage du film <em><strong>Elle et lui<\/strong><\/em>) puisqu\u2019ils ont commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 tourner en 1963. Cela ressemble au cas Antonioni et sur l\u2019insinuation que <em><strong>Elle et lui<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;est inspir\u00e9 de <em><strong>L\u2019\u00e9clipse<\/strong><\/em>.
